Nutrition is another important component of running. Like our normal diet there are many different supplements that you can take. In most cases people migrate to something a friend recommended. I find that you have to try different products to see what works for you. Gu, HammerGel, Tailwind are some of the products out there. You want to find the ones that have electrolytes in them.
Gu is a gel and has many flavors so you should find one that you enjoy. Test it out but usually one every 30 to 45 minutes depending on your distance and time out.
Tailwind is a powder that you can mix have the packet and drink before and use the other half in your water bottle for during the run.
A post run recovery nutrition is good especially during these hot months. Again Tailwind makes a nice product, but for a quick fix a cold glass of chocolate milk will work just fine..
