5K/1M Info

The Great 5K Pumpkin Run is a USATF certified race course and has a clock start and chip timed finish by Macs Race Timing Service. Overall male and female winners will win $50.  Medals will be given out for age divisions. Online pre-registration is available until midnight on Sept. 26th.  Early packet pick-up for those that are pre-registered only is available at the Lonoke Depot on Friday, Sept. 29th from 4:00 – 6:00pm. You will still need to visit the registration area the next morning to pick up a timing chip. Roller blades, strollers, skateboards, dogs and personal music devices are not allowed during the 5K for safety precautions.

The 5K begins at the historic Lonoke Train Depot at 8:00.  Starting around 7:20, there will be a warm-up and stretch session followed by announcements and encouragement by Matt Mosler. Known for its flat as a pancake course, the chipped 5K Pumpkin Run is made for setting a personal best record (PBR). Runners can also choose to wear a yellow flag on their waist and attempt to keep it from getting taken by Snoopy and Woodstock on the race course.  For runners not interested in any deterents to their PBR, they can run without a flag and be cheered on along the course.

Runners return back to the Depot to drinks and recovery snacks. The awards ceremony led by Matt Mosler and the live band New Horizon will take place as soon as a majority of runners have returned.  There will also be raffle prizes awarded during ceremony (you must be present to win).

The 1M Family Trot will begin shortly after the award ceremony.  Parents are encouraged to accompany younger children.  All the children will receive a free       mini-pumpkin and medal on completion of the trot.
